Berkshire Area :: Newbury :: Victoria Park

Overview :: The Park is a short walk from the station and is very easy to find. If you get lost just ask one of the locals. This spot comprises of a playground on the far side which can hold interest for a short while but is usually quite busy, a bandstand which is good for practising vaulting from small height and a large bridge area with some precisions, vaulting from height and generally getting some good flow. It's a special spot as its a bit different to your usual areas. - The rails are odd shapes, the walls slippery and some are wooden).

Conditions :: Unfortunately, nothing here is undercover, so in the event of wet weather, you'll have to grin and bare it! The Walls are quite slippery here when attempting wall climbs so watch yourself. All rails and concrete are fairly new so they don't have that dangerous wobble yet. The odd Duck and Swan poop everywhere, but nothing too severe.

Plod :: In all the time I have been training at this spot I have never been told to move on, so this spot is SAFE!

Supplies :: You are about one minute from Newbury town centre when in the park with plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants for you to feast in.

Watch your back :: During the day Victoria park is very safe but travel in groups at night, because chavs/townies lurk about in the shadows waiting to mug you! Also watch out for the local tramps asking for booze from you (night time only).

Pk heaven :: Nice place to warm up or have a small jam with one or two people. Will keep you busy for a while.

Overall :: Has a range of obstacles keeping most levels of free runners busy for an hour or so. Not big enough for a full scale jam.
