Berkshire Area :: Reading :: Hexagon Underground

Overview :: Situated in the opposite side of Reading Town centre to the Train station. If you make your way to the hexagon there are sets of stairs scattered around there that will lead you straight to the Hexagon Underground (car park). This spot holds a lot of potential for all levels of traceurs. There is a low rail for practicing vaults, and next to which is a wall with a ledge for tic-tacing on. Round the corner is a set of rails and stairs. Perfect for rail to rail precisions, vaults, and tic-tacing down the stairs. Right next to this is a set of stairs that winds up to ground level. Plenty of potential for vaults, drops and at the top are some hairy precisions that are quite easy but wouldn’t make for a pretty bail due to the height.

Conditions :: This is mainly all under cover so it makes for a good spot when it’s wet. Good sturdy concrete and metal rails everywhere. The odd pigeon crap here and there but nothing too severe.

Plod :: As these spots are around a corner from the hexagon, the security won’t bother you. Police never go down there so its pretty much perfect in this aspect.

Supplies :: Reading market and Broad street are situated 2 minutes away so you’ll have no problem with supplies. There's even a row of Chinese and Indian restaurants near the hexagon if that takes your fancy, or alternatively the elusive reading pie shop is just around the corner.

Watch your back :: It’s fine for going in a group or on your own. Probably not the best place to go to at night though. Hardly any skaters anymore seeing as they put more rails up for us traceurs.

Pk heaven :: Good for warming up, and kept us busy for hours when we first started. A good range of obstacles for all levels, and will probably hold your attention for quite a long time.

Overall :: With a range of obstacles for all levels, and almost no security, overall its pretty much perfect. Ideal for when its raining and also very good at night due to being so well lit.
